Yes, I should be sleeping now, I know
Nov. 15th, 2007 11:00 pmI didn't get to sleep until 2:30 that night that the neighbors were being noisy.
Last night, I was ready to go to bed at 11:15, but their TV was on. So I took my mattress and dragged it into the living room. I feel like I shouldn't have to do that, so it kind of annoys me, but I figured I had two choices. I could lay awake in bed, annoyed that I couldn't sleep, or I could sleep in the living room, annoyed that I had to drag my mattress there. Either way, I'm annoyed, but one way I get sleep and the other way I don't. So I chose sleep. I didn't move the mattress back today, and I will be sleeping there again tonight.
I hope these people don't renew their lease next year. I wonder if they keep the downstairs people awake too, or if it's just me.
Other things:
Starting December 9th, I will be the permanent organist at church. No more subs, no extra organist employed for a year... just me. I'm excited that I'll finally have my duties back, but I'm also quite terrified.
I want to get my hair cut again.
The CYF kids at church made candles in mugs that they are selling for a fund raiser. The minister bought one for me because the mug has my name on it. It smells like an iced cinnamon bun. I just think it's funny because it was a random mug assortment. Whoever donated the "Laura" mug must have had a good idea who would end up with it, because I'm pretty sure there are no other Lauras at church.
The Indians' pitching ace C.C. Sabathia won the American League Cy Young Award. And the manager Eric Wedge won the American League Manager of the Year Award. In addition to Grady Sizemore's Gold Glove Award, the Indians are winning all kinds of awards, but they don't have the championship to go with it. It's kind of sad.
Robert, my Scottish friend, said we should have a Scottish-American candy exchange. I already had some items that I wanted to send to them, like an Ohio State hoodie for Lynsey and a cookie cutter in the shape of Ohio, so I bought some candy, and also a hand-held electronic baseball game, probably for Robert, and I packed it all in a box. Oh, and I also included a Thanksgiving card, because I thought it would be funny, since they don't celebrate Thanksgiving in Scotland. I mailed the box out yesterday, and let me tell you - I spent more to send it than I did on the stuff inside. Apparently, nothing goes by boat anymore. It's all airmail, so it's expensive. But it's fun to think that it's now on its way to Scotland.
It was sort of snowing today. Fall is over and I'm ready for spring.
