A, B, or C
Jul. 3rd, 2007 05:03 pmWith the lease on my apartment up at the end of the month, I had three choices:
A. Sign another one-year lease
B. Switch to a month-by-month lease and pay more money
C. Find a new apartment
I have opted for C. Find a new apartment, so now I'm in the process of doing so. I called a few places on my lunch break and left messages. The only one that answered was one that will possibly be rented very soon by someone else who already looked at it. I hope I'll hear back from the other places soon.
I'm not yet freaking out about not having a place to live after July 31st, because Emily is freaking out for me.
Along with finding an apartment, moving also means getting rid of things I don't need. (I used to be a pack rat when I was a kid, but now I'm a firm believer in only keeping the things you are currently using, or will be using in the near future.) So I'm trying to sell both my broken console record player and my electric chord organ. I found a buyer for each on craigslist, if only they'd call me back...
I'll also probably go through my stuff and take a box or two to the Salvation Army. The less that needs moved when the time comes, the better!
I'm excited about having a day off tomorrow, although I still don't have any plans for the day. I guess there's nothing family-related going on. Maybe I'll do something with Emily, if she wants to, and maybe we'll go to our parents' house anyway. I can imagine them calling us and inviting us over for a spontaneous hamburger or something. Whatever happens, it'll be relaxing.
If the Indians were in town, I'd go to the game, but they're in Detroit playing the Tigers for the next three days.
