The End
After work today, I did one of my favorite things. I went to Barnes & Noble and bought a book, then I sat in the Starbucks there, drinking a caramel white chocolate mocha, and started reading it.
In this case, it was The End by Lemony Snicket. It is the thirteenth and final book in the series.
I didn't mean to read the whole thing. I couldn't help it.
I was just reading as I had the playoffs on, and once I was almost to the end, I couldn't just stop. So I finished it.
Some things came to a close, some long-suspected answers proved true, and some things will forever remain a mystery. I am satisfied.
I expected nothing else from Lemony Snicket. If he had answered every question, I wouldn't have anything left to wonder about.
